The United Nations
According to the very first Article of the United Nations, its purpose is: To maintain international peace and security, and to that end to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace, and for the suppression of acts of aggression....
From its inception in 1945, has the United Nations served its lofty purpose? Has it really suppressed acts of aggression? Has it adequately provided peace and security? In this section we will be discussing these very fundamental questions and how the United Nations has helped, for better or worse, shape the world. As well, we will be discussing its relevancy and the reasons behind the ever-growing support and movement for reforming the United Nations.
