Reforestation

Clear-cutting logging practices have resulted in millions of acres (or hectares) of land stripped of old growith forests. Old growth trees are necessary for a stable ecosystem. When any forest is clear-cut and not replanted, soil erosion is likely to occur. The loss of top soil results in the loss of soil nutrients and reduces or inhibits subsequent plant succession.

Reforestation is a very important aspect of environmentalism
