Marine Biology
Marine Biologists study the many diverse marine habitats, and the plants and animals that live in the sea. Marine life ranges from the enormous whales to microscopic plants in the plankton and in between we find members of every phylum.
Overfishing, pollution and global warming are threatening many critical habitats and there is increasing awareness of the need for marine conservation effort.
Marine Biologists rely heavily on the work of oceanographers, who study all physical and chemical aspects of the marine environment.
