Forensic Fiction
Made popular by television shows such as Bones and CSI, forensic fiction boasts intellectual, witty investigators like Kathy Reichs' Temperance Brennan and Aaron Elkins' Gideon Oliver who almost gleefully find answers in dessicated or heavily traumatized bodies, which seem to make more sense to the self-reliant doctors than the whims and needs of their living counterparts. Forensic fiction combines science with mystery in a highly readable, entertaining form.
