Fables

Fables are short stories, often involving animals with anthropomorphic characteristics, that teach a moral. For children, fables teach ethical lessons - slow and steady wins the race, don't cry wolf - in an enjoyable, non-threatening way. For adults, fables can be windows into different cultures and historical traditions.
