Is there a mathematical formula to explain everything? Is there any order within the randomness of Jackson Pollock's splattered art, forest fires or even the mess of a teenager's bedroom? A good place to begin understanding the issues behind these questions is reading the article What is Chaos?

R Taylor published details of his examination of Pollock's work in terms of Fractals in the 1980s, he identified that there are patterns in the dribbles which are similar to the patterns which occur throughout nature.
